Who We Are

Creating outdoor environments with quality materials and workmanship.

We are a father and son company with many hats: licensed electricians, licensed septic installer, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, firepits and fireplaces, pergolas and gazebos, low voltage lighting, excavation and drainage, and fencing.

Growing up farming and excavating in Central Illinois led to a love of soil and its properties, how it and water interact for percolation or runoff and how to manage those relationships to get the water to go where it needed to without adding undo stresses downstream. Selling retaining wall and paver materials led me to see their many uses and needs in Tennessee. The sloping yards require careful management and planning to achieve the desired effect. Installing these walls led to an understanding of how lighting plays an important role in how we interact with our environment which relates to customer happiness with the product. A great product with poor layout or execution ends up as a poor product. Being able to add electricity for outlets, lights, kitchens, pools etc. is a natural evolution of the outdoor space. If I expect you to live in the outdoor room I have created you usually want a few creature comforts such as a GFCI protected outlet for 120 volt appliances or phone charges or a robot vacuum for your new pool. Pool and privacy fences came along so that a customer didn’t need to find another contractor to help them fulfill their dream. We’ve gotten into a few other additional services for customers as need but don’t do them all of the time.

My real passion is retaining walls and water management. As a kid I used to love going into the fields after a rain and dig shallow trenches to get the water to go where it needed, sometimes creating a little pool along the way for frogs and always marveling at how earthworms make the soil better. Understanding soil properties and structure has always been fascinating. I still get excited finding a good Molisol to dig in.

Let us share our passion with you to create your space because at the end of the day I enjoy helping people.
